Seating chart and escort eggs

Some old pics of our parents and us.

With the help of our brothers and sisters,

the guests had no problem finding their eggs or seats on the day.

We put the initial moss alongside with the eggs.

当日、綺麗に並べられたたまごを手にとってゲストは自分の席を見つけられたようです。

苔のイニシャルもたまごたちと一緒に並べました。

It was so unusual that a lot of them took pictures of it.

If I were still a wedding planner, I would definitely recommend this escorting

system to my couples! 

Only thing that I regret about these eggs is that I didn't announce that

they were actually made of Hinoki cypress and you could put in bath to 

enjoy the aroma.

ひとつだけ後悔しているのは、ゲストにあのたまごがヒノキで出来ていて

お風呂に入れて香りを楽しめると教えてあげなかったこと・・・

The day before preparation

My dad wandering around during the prep.

Through the preparation, we fought a lot because we were tensed!

We took the time to compromise and by the time the family dinner started,

we were ready to enjoy the night!

Favors

In Japan, there are several ways to give your guests the favors at weddings.

One is to set them on their chairs before the reception starts

which is the most common way.

Another is to give them to your guests after the reception

and another is to give them to the guests during the reception by hired staffs.

I chose the last one but I didn't hire anyone to do that,so I did. 

私の結婚式ではみんなに自由に歩き回ったり

踊ったりしてほしかったので、

披露宴の前に引出物をイスに置いておくのは嫌でした。

パーティーが終わってからひとりずつ渡すのも時間がかかってしまい、

ゲストに迷惑をかけると思い、パーティーの終盤に自分が歩き回って

ひとりひとりに渡すことにしました。

Each bag had a guest's name on it and

had one jar of chimichurri, a mini sparkling wine, 

a scented soap from Argentina and a bag of muesli.

In addition, girls got to take some pashmina home with them 

and everyone got to take a lot of sweet treats from the buffet.

それぞれの袋にはゲストの名前が書かれていて、

袋の中には、瓶詰めのチミチュリ、ミニスパークリングワイン、

アルゼンチンのアロマソープ、ミューズリーが入っていました。

それに加えて、女性のゲストはパシュミナ、そして全員が引菓子として

パーティー中に自由にお菓子を用意したテーブルから持って帰れるようにしました。

Each chimichurri jar had a description and recipes hand-drawn by me.

Wow I almost had tenosynovitis.

The soaps were very pretty, I wonder if our guests have already used them.

チミチュリの瓶にはひとつひとつ手描きの説明とレシピをつけました。

すぐにとても美味しかったとたくさんの友人が使ってくれているようで、

腱鞘炎になりかけた甲斐がありました。

石鹸は細部まで拘ったつくりで、本当に可愛いのです。

もう誰か使ったかしら？

I chose to give my guests the gifts during the reception and 

didn't get to enjoy the dance floor as much as I'd expected but

I was happy to thank each one of them by handing the gifts directly from myself.

When I was looking for sources for my wedding,

I found these wreathes and loved them.

結婚式用の装飾を考えているとき、下の画像のリースを見つけて

とっても気に入りました。

結婚式にはリースは採り入れなかったのですが、

今年のクリスマスは、リースを手作りしました。

I didn't use a wreath for my wedding but I made one for Christmas!

Everything I used for this wreath was old and had been kept

for a long long time in a box . 

リースに使ったものは全て小さい頃から持っていた古い飾りたち。

棚の奥の箱の中に眠っていたものでした。

こんなに可愛くなって大満足です！

The day before preparation

This is one of the things only I could do.

Only I had the complete image of this how-to-escort-guests-to-their-table

system at the time.

While the others were making pompoms and flowers,

mom and I put the seating chart on the wall and the eggs on the tables.

受付を通って会場に行くまでの通路にseating chartとescort eggsを

置くコーナーを作りました。

私しかこのシステムを完璧にイメージできていないと思ったので、

前日の準備は私がやりました。

みんなが花やポンポンを広げている間に、

壁にseating chartを貼り、たまごを並べました。

To make it easy for the guests to find their eggs,
I categorized our guests by how we knew them, from college, work or childhood e.t.c..

ゲストが自分のたまごをすぐ見つけられるように
自分たちとの関係からゲストを種類分けして、たまごを置きました。

I think it went pretty well to make them feel like they were on a farm trip

or something. 

It was what I wanted, the informal, familiar but extraordinary atmosphere.

会場に抜けるまでのこの空間できっとゲストも農場に遠足に来たかのような

感覚を覚えたかもしれません。

私がゲストに感じてほしかった“非日常”。

普通の結婚式なら豪華絢爛さでそれを表現するけれど、

気取らず自然で心地のいい“非日常”。

Ceremony deco

Maybe, this is the most amazing decoration that I made for this wedding.

It was breathtakingly beautiful!

Thanks to my hard work choosing the colors and making the pompoms!

I had no time to take care of the ceremony site the day before,

my mom and I went to sleep at 3 in the morning and woke up at 5.

We woke up and woke the groom up and went to the gazebo to finish it up!

前日は時間がなく、結局、挙式をする東屋には手がつけられなかったのです。

ママと私は夜中の3時に寝て、朝の5時に置きました。

彼を起こして、東屋の飾りつけをなんとか終わらせました。

Ceremony deco

When I first came to this place, I fell in love with this simplicity of the gazebo.

最初にこの場所に来たときも、シンプルな東屋の佇まいがとても気に入りました。

入り口に白い紙のお花を飾るだけでも様になりました。

To add some wedding feeling, we just hung some white paper flowers at the gate.

There was a kind of roof window inside the gazebo,

I'd thought some hanging sashes would be nice and I was right!

I wish I could've hung more of them.

東屋の天井は天窓のように光が入るようになっていたので、

そこにたくさんのリボンを吊るしました。

当日は風に揺れてとっても綺麗でした。

もっとたくさんのリボンを吊るせたら、もっとよかったのですが。

To get to the ceremony site, the guests went through this green arch
which we hung small sparkling ornaments on.
They were shining like stars under the sunlight.

After party venue

This is how the place looked like at night.

the perfect setting for our Mexican  fiesta theme! 

My family took care of floating candles making sure they were lit and floating.

The party was colorful, cheerful, fun, Mexican, magical and delicioso!!
