Lanterns

Aren't these adorable?

Big paper lanterns and pompoms floating in the air.

Instead of lighting them up, I added some yellow lanterns to feel the warmth.

The day before preparation

前夜の家族ディナーの装飾も私が担当しました。

みんなはもう疲れて休憩していたころ、ひとりで準備していました。

花屋さんは前日から来てもらおうという予定でしたが、次の日もあるのに

この少しの装飾のためだけに来てもらうのは悪いので、

お花だけ家まで朝届けてもらって、ゴルフ場まで持ってきたのでした。

その花を自分で用意したジャム瓶に活けて、ハサミでバランスを調整しました。

そしてIKEAのハリケーンランタンに大きなキャンドルと水と、コスモスを何輪か。

あとは、オリジナルで作ったペーパーナプキンと、

家族のために用意したギフトを置いて・・・

I was nervous about this surprise gift for Euge

because I didn't have time to practice after we left for the venue the day before.

I told everyone else but mon to take the other bus and we took the other one 

with all the boxes and stuff we needed for the wedding.

The time I was on the way to the venue was the only time I got to practice.

I started lessons at the end of August and took only 5 of them.

エウヘへのサプライズプレゼントまではずっと緊張していました。

前日にゴルフ場へ来てからは練習する時間がなかったからです。

前日にここに来るのに2台のバスを使ったと書きましたが、

1台にママ以外の全員を乗せて、もう1台に荷物とママと私で乗りました。

向こうに着くまでの間、ギターを練習していたのです！

なんてったって、8月の終わりにレッスンを始めて、

5回しか通っていなかったんですもの。

Right before the ceremony, I sneaked out and practice one last time 

outside the reception venue and gave the guitar to the sound guy.

挙式が始まる直前、最後に1度だけ練習し、そのままギターを音響さんに託しました。

All I had in mind was Euge's happy smile.

By the way, it still amazes me that Euge had no idea and didn't doubt 

about me bringing the guitar for mom's friend?? Some random lie, huh?

When finally the time came, I was confident that I'd memorized the codes

but not sure about the lyrics because I was very nervous.

I asked my sister to assist me with my iPhone.

Anyway, it went fine!
