Our first dance

The first dance is something that is not common at all in Japan.

This must have been the wow moment for our Japanese guests.

We didn't actually dance! but looked at each other holding hands and

let ourselves go with the beautiful song that my sister sang.

ファーストダンスは、私たちの結婚式の数少ないイベントの中でも

もっとも大事な瞬間でした。

日本ではあまりしないことなのでゲストも見ていて楽しかったかな。

ドレスもボリュームのあるものだったので、踊ったというほどでもありませんが、

見つめあって、手を取り合って、姉の歌う美しい歌に身を任せました。

Asking my sister to sing “Dream a little dream of me” was the right decision!

It was so so so soooooo beautiful!

After the first dance, we asked our family to join us in the last half of the song,

and after that, asked everyone to join us on the dance floor!

A lot of people hit the dance floor as I'd planned!

It was such joy.

ファーストダンスの後は、家族に参加してもらい、

姉に歌ってもらった曲の最後の半分をみんなでダンスしました。

そしてスローな曲を交えながら、だんだんとゲストのみんなも参加して

ダンスフロアーは熱く盛り上がりました！計画していた通り！

とっても幸せな時間でした。

The wedding day prep

By 7:00 in the morning, it was almost ready,

the pool house, the gazebo, the entrance...

Our family started waking up and getting ready.

They were having breakfast in the club house restaurant

while I was too nervous to sit still.

朝の7時にはアフターパーティーの会場も、東屋も、受付も

着々と準備ができてきました。

家族もぞくぞくと起きてきて、着々と自分たちの準備をはじめ、

前夜にディナーをした場所で朝ごはんをとっていました。

私はというと、まだ準備がまったくできていなかったので、

そわそわとして、じっと座っていられませんでした。

The reception venue was still chaos, I needed to be there to make sure

everything would go well.

I put make up on, I was still in my pajamas and walking around

talking to the catering people, the band, the golf club people and the florist.

とりあえず、メイクだけを済ませて、パジャマのまま歩き回り

ケータリングの方々、バンド、ゴルフ場のスタッフのみなさん、

お花屋さんと確認をしながらバタバタとしていました。

When I got to put the dress on, I was running out of time!

I think no one else besides my mom knew I was in such a hurry.

ドレスを着たときには、かなり時間を気にしていましたが

ママ以外にそれに気づいていたひとはいなかったと思います。

After taking family pictures, 

I went to the reception venue for the last time before everyone would come in 

and brought the place to completion.

家族写真を撮った後、最後にもう一度だけ披露宴の会場へ行き、

仕上げをしました。

We didn't have a lot of time so didn't take a lot of pictures 

while getting ready.

I like how my dress looks in this picture.

The one below is a bride's essential, a white handkerchief.

I didn't really cry so I didn't really need it but this was a gift from

a bride whom I planned a wedding for long ago 

so I wanted to have it with me at my wedding.
