FASHION~the gift from mamá~

I'm still thinking about a pair of earrings.

Today, I was organizing my accessory drawer and found a treasure!

My husband's mom (I call her mamá and I call mine mama) 
gave me natural gem stones
when we spent a summer in Pinamar, Argentina.
I think it will be perfect if I use them as my bridal accessories!

毎日のように頭の中で結婚式の日の自分をイメージします。

今日はアクセサリーの引き出しを整理していて、宝物を見つけました！

お義母さんからプレゼントしてもらった天然石を自分でイヤリングにしようかな。
何かしら自分にとって意味のあるものを身につけると、
結婚式がもっとわくわくしたものになるかも。

FASHION~accessry~

I said the dress should be simple.
I was thinking NO ACCESSORY.

Perhaps, a pair of earrings only.
I've always had these in my mind.

日本は大体の花嫁さんがパールのアクセサリーか
ジルコニアでできたようなキラキラのアクセサリーをするけれど、
あんまりタイプじゃないな。
ゲストもみんなパールのネックレスなんてこともありえます。

In Japan, brides tend to wear pearl accessories.
As well as guests.
I like to wear a pearl necklace with an apron like Julia Child but
not with a wedding gown.

Not in a tent.... then where?

テントがダメなら他に夢を叶えられる場所はあるかしら…

夢を叶える、特に結婚式って、
こういう妥協と夢の狭間でせめぎあうことがたくさん。
そのバランスをうまく保つには、
根本に強い意志があること。

なんで結婚式をしたいのか。
どんなものにしたいのか。

VENUE~Inokashira Park~

もともとは自宅近くの美しい公園でパーティーをするのが

夢のプランでした。

今までもたくさんのひとがここで結婚式を挙げようと

企んできたことでしょう。

Our original plan was to have a park wedding.

There is this beautiful park right next to my home and 

a lot of people would love to have their wedding reception there.

Here in Japan, it's difficult to have a park wedding.

Why?

Because...

we can't serve food outside due to sanitary reasons,

if something happens to the person who eat the food BLAH BLAH....

if we want to have a band, neighbors would complain, BLAH BLAH BLAH.....

ところが、都立公園は条例も厳しく、

なかなか許可がおりません。

最近ではアウトドアウェディングなどと謳い、

いろいろな団体があり、

たくさんのひとが屋外でパーティーをすることに

興味をもっていますが、まだまだ日本では難しいようです。

（特に東京都！）

I kinda understand the reasons but not completely.

So I decided to do it all by myself without any event companies' help.

(so that we don't have to care about all those reasons why we can't serve food or so on.)

and I've found out that it's even difficult to get the permission to hold an event in the park.

もともと2013年の10月に結婚式を挙げようと

計画してきた私たちは、

企画書も準備し、あとは公園事務局に提出するだけのところでしたが、

2012年10月に入り、あまりの寒さと雨の多さに

公園でのテントウェディングを躊躇しました。

東京でのアウトドアウェディング、

天候的にも、文化的にも、

あまり合わないのかも…

We chose October as our wedding month

since it's not too hot or cold and it doesn't usually rain a lot but 

this year, in October, it rained a lot and was pretty cold....

Suddenly I got scared that it would rain on my wedding day and 

even we had a big tent, our guests wouldn't be happy....

This is the reason I decided not to have our wedding party in the park.

I was so close to get the permission from the park,

but I think it's more important to have a beautiful and fun wedding safely

than to make my almost-impossible-dream come true.

FOOD~Oysters~

I love love love the oysters.

(My husband doesn't really like them. Unbelievable!)

It would be cool to have an oyster bar in the reception!

How many of them will we need?

Our reception is far away from now but if I start thinking about the FOOD

I can not stop.

                              

食べること、創ることがとにかく大好き！

結婚式はまだまだ遠い未来なのに、食べ物のことは
考え出したら止まらない！
牡蠣は見た目も美しいし、大好きな食べ物。
この前、牡蠣が届いて、お料理しました。
そしてふと思ったのです・・・
もしも生牡蠣のコーナーがあったらなんてステキだろう！
そしていったいどれだけの牡蠣が必要なんだろう・・・

でも牡蠣は好き嫌いもあるし、きっと不向きだろうな。
牡蠣じゃなくてもいいから、とにかく美味しくて
みんなが結婚式で今まで食べたことのないものがいいな。

GOWN~short? or long?~

Short dresses are cute.
I think some of my friends are expecting me to wear one.
Even the groom may be.

自分の雰囲気にも合っているし、
日本ではまだまだ珍しいショートドレスは確かに可愛い。
何より動きやすくて、普段の自分でいられるかも。

I want something simple... I think....
It doesn't have to be super simple but I don't need any bows or bijoux.
Just enough amount of ruffles, maybe.

いつもシンプルなものがいいと言い続けているけど。
リボンとか余計なキラキラやゴテゴテした飾りはいらない！
シンプルだけどアクセサリーなんてなくてもそれだけで十分なドレス。

VENUE~tent~

Why is it so difficult to have a tent wedding in Japan?
It would be just beautiful and everyone would love it!

日本ではまだまだテントを結婚式や披露宴の会場にするのは常識をはるかに超えています。
いろいろな結婚式会場が屋外にガゼボや小さなテントを作ってウリにしているけれど、
大きな広場で大きな真っ白いテントの下でのパーティーはなかなか実現しません。
山梨など郊外に行けば、海外のテントウェディングに憧れて、
それを実践しているブライダル関係者もいるみたい。

Because we have no space?
Because of the weather?
Because of our culture?
Or maybe.... we don't know how to make it fabulous!

私だったら、東京でも同じような雰囲気を出せるところを創っちゃうのに！
I would create fabulous space　right here in Tokyo, if only I had money;)
Could be anywhere, like... on a rooftop of a tall tall building in Tokyo.

近所の公園では東京都のイベントのために、
期間限定のスペースが創られてたけど、イベントが終われば撤収してしまうそう。
使いたい人は個人だけでなく、企業や、たとえばどこかの大使館関係者とか、
たくさんいるだろうに 、創って壊してしまうだけなんてもったいないなぁ。
こういう場所をきちんと管理して、無駄にせず、
そして地域を潤すツールにできればいいのに。

UNO ＋ UNO

We got married on August 4th, 2009 in Argentina.

A boy from Buenos Aires and a girl from Tokyo are planning an ultimate wedding reception in Japan.
It is our (or MY) dream to have a wedding reception but we don't like Japanese style weddings.
Since we are living in Japan, it's been really difficult to pursue our dream...
BUT we'll make our dream come true!
